Ibanez EWP13DBO Exotic Wood Piccolo Acoustic Guitar

With smaller scale instruments becoming increasingly popular, Ibanez has responded with the EWP13DBO, a 1/3-size steel string Piccolo acoustic guitar. The tiny travel guitar may be an uplifting addition to any adventure, from the on-the-go businessperson who requires a guitar that can fit in a plane’s overhead compartment to the cheerful traveller simply wishing to energize his or her trip with a song.

The EWP13DBO has an EW-style cutaway body and is scaled similarly to a baritone ukulele (17″). The top, back, and sides are crafted of ovangkol, a West African wood famed for its gorgeous figure and purpleheart-like tone. A natural finish with open pores allows the body to vibrate more freely, resulting in better tone and projection. An abalone rosette, purpleheart fretboard, bridge, and chrome die-cast tuners are among the other highlights.

The EWP13DBO is tuned in the key of A (A, D, G, C, E, A) to improve string tension, intonation, and tone, which is a fourth higher than normal tuning.
